Dr. Arif is a British Board certified Consultant Pediatric Neurologist in Dubai. He completed his General Pediatric and Pediatric neurology training in the UK.
He has trained and worked in a number of regional and tertiary hospitals in the United Kingdom. The prominent ones included Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Royal Aberdeen Childrens Hospital, University Hospitals of Leicester and the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. He was a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for 3 years. During his tenure, he was assigned as lead clinician for complex epilepsies, vagal nerve stimulation service and ketogenic diet service in Leicester.
He moved to Dubai in the year 2015 and was appointed as the Head of Children’s services at the American Center for Psychiatric and Neurology in 2015. After having completed 2 contractual years at the center, he set out to develop the first pediatric neurosciences center in the region called Neuropedia.
He founded and developed Neuropedia Children’s Neurosciences center in 2018. The center has now successfully completed 4 years of service to the regional population. Following its success, the organization has established the second branch of Neuropedia in Sharjah to serve the Northern population of the country.
More recently in Jan 2022, he founded and developed the first pediatric focused Orthotics and Prosthetics clinic in the region called Xtremity in Dubai.
Dr. Arif is an avid writer, authoring more than 40 peer-reviewed and public health publications. He has recently authored a book called Pediatrics – A clinical Handbook.
He is currently an Associate Professor (adj) of Pediatric Neurology at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University, Dubai. He has been a lecturer for medical students at the University Hospital of Leicester and has been teaching on the national training courses like Pediatric Epilepsy training course. He is an accredited examiner for the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health.

Your Treatment Journey With Dr. Arif
Firstly, he will ask about your child’s medical history and perform a neurological examination.
He will take your child through a series of simple maneuvers to test strength, coordination, sensation, reflexes etc.
He will discuss your child’s condition with you, go over the diagnosis, explain the need for further testing, and implement a plan of action to resolve the problem.
You will also receive a detailed medical report explaining your child’s condition (This will be sent to you or could be collected at a later date)
